Hello Friends!
Dandelion Friends Preschool is a cooperative program that is dependent on parent involvement. Because we depend on parents we are able to keep costs down, which is nice. The degree of parent involvement and cost is dependent on how many families we have participating. Currently, tuition is $100x days of the week you attend per month. Example: if a child attends 2 days a week, monthly tuition is $200; $300 for 3 days a week and so on. We are offering 3 days a week, Tuesday-Thursday. Our total maximum is 12 kids/day.
The Preschool is located at the Chapel by the Lake in Auke Bay. In addition to assisting the teacher on your parent work days, each family has a “family job,” such as keeping our first aid kit stocked, planning a monthly field trip, doing laundry weekly, etc.
A Typical Day in the Life of…
ROUTINE
Miss Angie, our amazing teacher keeps the kids on a predictable routine but is all about child-led learning and following their interests and ideas and encouraging them to experiment and explore.
MORNING MEETING
A typical day starts with morning meeting where she tells them about the days activities. Each month usually has a general theme and she plans one or two science/art/craft activities for each day so the kids can move about between different activities, free play, the play dough table, etc.
STORY TIME AND LUNCH
After the arts, crafts, experiments it is clean-up and story time, followed by an early lunch at 11.
OUTSIDE
Outdoor time is usually held in a types of weather. Rarely do they skip going outside.

Miss Angie, our amazing teacher keeps the kids on a predictable routine but is all about child-led learning and following their interests and ideas and encouraging them to experiment and explore. Miss Angie has been a teacher for several years for both Dandelion Friends Preschool, and Auke Bay Co-Op.
